Getting Ripped In Boracay

Oct 26, 2006 18:39

So I'm in the Tropical Paradise (quite deserving of the capital letters) of Boracay, one of over 1000 islands that make up the Philippines, and just one of the many useless facts I learned about the islands today. Aside from being a walking, talking Chappies wrapper of use-ful/less information, I'm now also a snorkelling tourist. Oh words can't ( Read more... )

Yay, first comment!

Holy wow, madam... that's gorgeous :) and as fabulously lucky as a split pair of trousers can be. so snaps for you. The picture of the palm trees reflecting in your glasses is awesome.

Mnet in the Phillipines? wow. just wow. I guess it must be a popular enough destination for Africans that it's worth opening up there. Have you heard any afrikaans/xhosa/[insert other africa-ish language here] yet?

Yay Mavis for getting in there first. Which sounds about as naughty as the Turnip epsiode of Bladder.
Yes, the 'palm trees in glasses' shot is too too awesome. And what's more, I took it myself. Have so many scenery pics that I felt I should have one or two to prove I was in fact here in Boracay, and not lifting these amazing shots off the Internet.
Dunno about many Africans here, but I can tell it's open season on Germans, Koreans and Japanese. And yes, I've seen more promos for Kenyan 'drama' series than I care to ever seen in my life again. Ever. Mostly I've been watching Days and Bold every day, as well as something called Invasion, which is awesome.

Puddingfluffpastrypiepetalbiscuit,
YAY, you got my box! Snaps to the Taiwanese Postal Services for being so efficient.
When I saw the pig keyring, I thunked out you immediately. Only later, when I was fooling around with it, did I see that it has Retractable Poop Motion [batteries sold separately]. Then I knew it was meant to be.
Enjoy the book. I loved it, and you got me started on Neil Gaiman all those years ago in Cape Town with Neverwhere. Think of it as a favour returned.

Aw I love botanical gardens. I have fond memories of the ones near Emmerentia Dam, near where you used to live with Claire. Sorry you missioning on your lonesome. Speaking for someone who just spent four days alone in his version of paradise, it's nice to be alone sometimes, but 4 days is too long.
Still, moving on...

Hey you snazzy trekker!
those shots look wonderful- and what I wouldn't give for a few episodes of days and bold over here. alas, must contend with rhythmic snoring of kindy kids instead.

Hey, so you back in Taiwan? How was home, the wedding etc?
The Bold is the same - Ridge, Brooke, some other random person love triangle, Stefanie is still a bitch, nothing much happens, blah blah...

You have no idea how incestuous soapies get. I wanna Executive Produce the Bold, turn Brooke into Eric's long-lost daughter he never knew he had, then watch the shit hit the fans. Hee hee.

Danya_Zee, I admit I never thought I'd see the day you gave up your anonymity for a free Internet blog account. And I'm so touched you did it all for me. [cue sappy music].
Be green with envy darling. Chilling on a tropical island has been a dream of mine ever since I was old enough to have 'dreams'. And I did it. Yay me! Isn't that sunglasses pic gorgeous? Sod Seekers, I'm thinking GQ cover. Or the cover of that book it's now time to start writing.
Anyway dearie, thanks for the MNet scoopage, that makes a whole lotta sense. And see you soon. Or sooner.
