Good question, it does seem to be dying down and I really don't know where people are posting these days.

I'm only on DollyMarket, but it's pretty active over there! I've found LJ in general to have quieted down over the last bit - everyone's either moved to dreamwidth or tumblr. There are still a ton of people into it, and I see new people popping in to the hobby all the time so I think it's more that it has just moved away from LJ.

I've never heard of dreamwidth...I just took a peek at it though. is it like an updated livejournal?

Yeah, pretty much. I guess it was created because of all the issues going on with LJ a couple years ago.
