Here's the thing. I love books. I've been going through about a few books a week. I'm running out of things to read! So, influence me. Comment and tell me something to read, please? I'll make sure to put your suggestion on the list below. When I read it, I'll strike it out.

the golden compass is also known as Northern Lights (UK/US titles...same book, though). if you enjoy that, i'd suggest you continue with the Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass.

Election, by Tom Perrotta
Galilee, by Clive Barker
The Brethren, by John Grisham
Just about anything by Jeffrey Archer
The Harry Potter anthology
And here are some of my favorite non-fiction works:
Moneyball, by Michael Lewis
The Art of War, by Sun Tzu (James Clavell translation/edition)
The Prince, by Niccolo Macchiavelli
The Art of the Deal, by Donald Trump
Anything by Dave Barry
Mythology, by Edith Hamilton (moreso a reference book/survey, but I find it interesting)
There may well be some others as well that I have neglected to put on. I'll think about more books. :)

Beloved is awful. I couldn't get very far into it. I also never got through Catch 22.
Some really good books, if you haven't already read them are:
The Things They Carried-Tim O'Brien
The Great Gatsby-F. Scott Fitzgerald
Wicked-Gregory Maguire
The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing-?
The Virgin Suicides-?
The Joy Luck Club-Amy Tan
You should update your list as you go along. I'll be interested to see what you read.

-Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood
-The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy
-Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe
-The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling (any year is fine; there is usually something in there I find amazing.)
-Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter
-Heroes and Villains by Angela Carter
-Bones of the Moon by Jonathan Carroll
-Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
-The Thief of Always by Clive Barker
-The Abarat by Clive Barker (It's a series; I only liked the first book. 2nd one is OK)
I really enjoyed these books. They're thought-provoking and beautiful. Characters are likeable and the stories are so interesting. Let me know what you think. ^___^
