So, after a somewhat promblematic conversation about my last post on The Engine, I've decided to post a shortened version of what I was trying to get at. Any questions as to whom I'm speaking should just be attributed to the fact that this was part of a conversation. Now, in a more streamlined form, this is what I was getting at. There have been some comics runs that have done this. I'm thinking James Robinson's Starman, Garth Ennis' Preacher, JMS' Rising Stars come to mind. It was obvious from the beginning of each that they had a goal and the narrative pushed towards it throughout the runs to varrying degrees of success. Robinson ended up deviating for various reasons, but all three felt mapped out from the beginning. Doing something like Fell to me would actually be harder because you are forced into a tighter confine and have to be conscious of every panel.
