I decided against one of those things where I do a retrospect of my entire LJ, and what's changed, and blah, blah, blah.
Instead, this is where I explain all of my interests on my LJ user info. (Stolen from kefanii.)
100 Bullets: One of the coolest comic books ever. I love the conspiracy theory, secret society kind of stuff, and the writers manage to present a wide variety of characters and situations.
24: Kiefer Sutherland gets to yell at people and wave a gun around. Brilliant. (It's actually way more complex than that, and it's really well done [in my opinion])
A Perfect Circle: A rock band of geniuses. Brilliant music, excellent vocals...top notch work all around.
Alias: Spies! Explosions! Contrived Disguises! It's actually a fun (and catchy) series, with cool guest stars every now and then, and the best villain (or is he?) ever, played by Ron Rifkin.
Anime: Japanese animation, Japanese cartoons, whatever. They're funny, and weird, and thought-provoking, and different. And I love 'em. Just don't call it "Japanime"...that's just fucking stupid.
Applegeeks: A hilarious webcomic, with the bonus of an Arab Muslim artist!
Arab Culture: I firmly believe that a person should always honor and respect their heritage. As such, I love reading about all the cool shit that's contributed to the identity of my people.
Arabic: It helps to know the language of your heritage. Double if it's also the language of your religion.
Ash: Awesome Irish rock band.
Audioslave: Rage Against the Machine minus the rage. Nothing against Chris Cornell, he's an amazing singer, but Audioslave's songs lack the...spark (for lack of a better term) that made RATM's songs so fucking great. Which is probably more Morello's/Commerford's/Wilk's fault, actually. Dammit. Bring back the Rage.
Audiovent: Jason Boyd (younger brother of Bradon Boyd [lead singer of Incubus]) on vocals, Ben Einzinger (younger brother of Mike Einzinger [guitarist of Incubus]) on guitar...yeah, they sound like Incubus, but, at they same time, they don't. I really like their CD, though. Too bad it never sold well. The band broke up or splintered off or something.
Bad Religion: Best. Punk. Band. Ever. For over 20 years, these guys have been making some of the best music in the business. Do yourself a favor and get one of their CDs.
Black Heaven: In anime, rock and roll can save the world.
Bryan Singer: Really cool director. I hate that he abandoned the third X-Men movie for Superman, but that's life.
Carnivàle: An awesome HBO original series. Heavy on the religious, good vs. evil imagery, with some amazing cinematography and writing.
Charlie Kaufman: One of the most incredible screenwriters in the history of film.
Chevelle: Awesome rock band from Chicago. They play kickass live shows.
Christopher Nolan: Directed and wrote Memento. Directed and co-wrote the new Batman movie. My hero.
Chuck Palahniuk: A brilliant author. I love his style, and emulate it a bit too much.
Chud.com: One of the best movie news websites around. AICN is shit.
Coldplay: Yay for British poprock?
Ctrl-Alt-Del: Another funny webcomic.
Dane Cook: Hysterical comedian. Before I die, I want to see his live act.
Danny Boyle: Directed Trainspotting and 28 Days Later, therefore he's an awesome director.
Daredevil: One of my favorite Marvel characters. Mark Steven Johnson is an asshole for making a shitty DD movie.
Daron Malakian: Guitarist for System of a Down. What he does with an instrument is insane.
Dave Navarro: Guitarist for Jane's Addiction. Also married to Carmen Electra. What more could you want from life?
David Fincher: Directed The Game. And se7en. And Fight Club. And every other awesome movie ever (not really). Still, his movies are amazing, and I am definitely influenced by his style as a director.
David Hayter: Awesome screenwriter and The Voice of Solid Snake®. Nothing can trump being The Voice of Solid Snake®.
Deftones: Awesome metal band. One of those "nü metal" bands...god, I hate that phrase.
Digital Video Cameras: I want one. Specifically a Canon XL2.
Drawing: Fun way to kill time. Especially since I'm horrible at it. Also, since my girlfriend is a genius artist, I will never draw again.
Dreamcast: Best console ever.
DVDs: Movies with fun extras, all on nifty little discs. And now they're on the verge of obsolesence.
EB Games: My former employer.
Electronics Boutique: The "not as hip" name of my former employer.
Engrish: When Asians mutilate the English language. The results are hysterical.
Epitaph Records: One of the best punk rock labels around, and it was started by Brett Gurewitz, Bad Religion's lead guitarist, back in the 80s.
Everwood: Shut up. Yeah, it's sappy, but Tom Amandes rocks, and no true film fan can resist Treat Williams (he was in Deep Rising and The Phantom....THE PHANTOM!). Besides, it's tigerpurr's fault.
Fear Factory: Awesome metal band.
Filming: What I'll be doing for the rest of my life.
Foo Fighters: Awesome rock band fronted by Dave Grohl (drummer for Nirvana).
Friends: The show: guilty pleasure. The noun: always good to have around.
FSU: Florida State University. My current educational institution, and hopefully the people who will help grant my filmmaking wishes.
George Carlin: The master of stand up comedy. Does hilarious and smart and awesome things with the English language.
Guitar: One of my hobbies. Once you listen to me play, you'll know why I want to write for a living.
Hellblazer: Badass comic. Again, I love religious imagery, and cynicism and sarcasm, and John Constantine rocks.
I Have No Life: It's true. I don't.
Incubus: Awesome rock band from SoCal.
Insecurity: My biggest flaw. Well, one of them, anyway.
iPod: The coolest gadget I own.
Islam: A misunderstood religion. One of the fastest growing religions in the world. My own personal faith.
Jimi Hendrix: Guitar god.
Jon Stewart: Funny, funny man.
King of Fighters: One of the coolest 2D fighting games ever created.
Lewis Black: Hilarious. I love his exasperation at almost everything. I wish I could see him perform live.
lostprophets: Awesome rock band from Britain.
Mac: Macintosh. Apple. Whatever.
Mac Hall: Yet another funny webcomic.
Metal Gear Solid: Tactical Espionage Action.
Mindless Self Indulgence: One of the most bizzare bands I've listened to.
Mindlessly Watching Television: My favorite pastime.
Mitch Hedberg: Another comedian I need to see live.
Monster Magnet: Awesome rock band.
Movies: My passion.
MP3s: Electronic music.
Muse: Awesome rock band from Britain (pt. II)
Music: Not as much of a passion as movies, more like therapy.
Muslims: My brothers and sisters in faith.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: One of the most critically acclaimed anime series ever produced. Not for casual viewing.
Ninja Gaiden: Best game ever. Well, once I beat it someday.
Ninjas: I wish I was one. They're awesome.
NOFX: Awesome punk band.
Opeth: Awesome metal band, but in a more classical influenced way.
Penny Arcade: One of the biggest webcomics. An acquired taste.
Pennywise: Awesome punk band.
Powerman 5000: Awesome late 90s rock band.
Preacher: One of my favorite comics. It's so brilliant and so fucked up at the same time.
Prince of Persia: Would be the best game ever if it was longer (Sands of Time). Haven't had time to play the sequel (Warrior Within).
Probot: Dave Grohl's metal side project tribute thing. It rocks.
Quentin Tarantino: A directing and writing god. Probably the most ripped off writer/director since Hitchcock.
Rage Against the Machine: Brilliant rock band that had a message.
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Awesome rock band (used to be more funky) from SoCal.
Robert Rodriguez: The Man. I want to become the new version of him.
Rolling Stones: Classic rock band from Britain.
Shaw Island: Funny webcomic.
Six Feet Under: The best HBO original series. Dysfunctional family drama at its finest.
SNK: Creators of some of the best video games ever (King of Fighters, Metal Slug)
Soil: Awesome late 90s rock band.
Spike Jonze: Quirky and awesome director.
Spineshank: Awesome late 90s rock band.
Static-X: Awesome metal band.
Stephen King: A good author, and a great storyteller, but I think fame has kind of tarnished his talent.
System of a Down: One of the coolest metal bands ever.
Tenchu: Underrated ninja video game.
The Offspring: Used to be awesome punk band.
The Punisher: The coolest Marvel character ever.
Thief: Underrated PC game.
Tom Morello: Brilliant guitarist.
Tool: One of the most creative, artistic, talented, awesome bands to ever play metal/rock music.
Trigun: Cool anime.
Venom: Best Marvel villain.
Video Games: A great way to have fun and kill time.
Webcomics: Cheap entertainment.
Writing: Something I'd like to think I can do well.
Xbox: My current console of choice.
Y: The Last Man: An amazing comic I wish I had time to explain.
Year of the Rabbit: Awesome rock band.
I know the responses kinda tapered off. This took forever. I figured I might as well just get it over with. The room seems tilted.
