You Are/Now the Movie Star/You've Come So Fucking Far

Spent 11/10-11/14 shooting F1 projects.
11/10: My project, titled Regression, was first. We shot in the office of the president of the university, which was kinda nerve-wracking for me. If something broke, I think I would've instantly died. We shot the second half in a house with a creepy basement, which doesn't look creepy here (that's my cast and crew, who were all awesome).
11/11: The next day was Nick's, titled Murder, which we shot at a coffeehouse and on campus. We (the crew, minus Nick the director and Pete the D.P.) were the laziest motherfuckers ever...we basically slept for most of the second half of the shoot. In the beginning of the shoot, at the coffeehouse, I was preparing our slate, since I was Best Boy Grip/Electric and I didn't have much else to do. I hear our two actresses talking, and they were so convincing as middle-aged rich bitches that I repsonded to them, not realizing that they were rehearsing (I didn't get a copy of the script beforehand). Yeah, that was embarassing...
11/12: The next day was Ben's, Zalgo and You, which we shot on campus. I spent 70something dollars on food and craft services, since I was producer for that shoot... =\ I pissed off a lot of people at the Publix Deli. I went to a party that night and got pretty drunk on vodka, gin, and such...I let people draw on me (no pictures...sorry guys ^_^ ) and had a good time. Nick Zayas is a cool guy, and Adam Mitchell was being a dick. Next thing I knew, it was 5 am...and I had call at 7. I got a ride home, got about an hour of sleep.
11/13: Jesse's set was at an elementary school (it was a Sunday, no kids were harmed). I was boom op, which, thankfully, is an easy job. Still, I found the laziest positions for holding the mic. On one shot, I was sitting down, leaning against a wall, and I kept nodding off between takes. We all had a good time, though. Out of all our films, I think Jesse's is the one I'm most excited to see. It was certainly one of the most fun to make.
11/14: Last of all was Pete's, which had a harrowing last minute location change. We ended up shooting at the top of a parking garage, which, as a D.P. (Director of Photography...a.k.a cinematographer) drove me crazy because we couldn't get good light, because call was at 6:30 PM. Which is a shame, because it's a hilarious script. Anyways, we wrapped at midnight, and with that, my group finished its first production cycle.

11/15: Spent yesterday trying to properly upload my footage into the Mac Lab. I hate Avid. If I had a digital video camera that I could use as a deck, I'd upload my footage to my laptop and do it all myself. Our post-production schedule is a fucking joke. We have from today until Nov. 30 to edit our final cut. What's wrong with that picture...oh yeah, F3s start this weekend (Friday and Saturday for my group) and then next Wednesday through Sunday is Thanksgiving Break. Basically, they expect us to choose between having time to edit our project or spending time with our loved ones. So fucking ridiculous. Unfortunately, I may not be home for all of Turkey Break...depends on how much I can edit before then.
11/16: Spent today learning how to get out of my housing contract. Jesus, another fucking rip-off...University housing is such a sham. I never should've signed up a second year. I have to take some paperwork and make a case to the Hall Director (who seems nice) and then, if he signs off on it, I have to make an argument to an appeals commitee, and hope they see reason and let me go. I feel really bad that Michelle and Colure are depending on me and I may not be able to come through. That also means I'll have to live in this shithole another 4 months...It'll all work out though. I'll just have to make sure they understand my tenacity. If it got me into the film school, it can get me out of the dorms.

Off to watch Lost with the gang.
