Auditioned Nikolay today for the role of Aleksander. I feel he did really well. Very eager and open to direction. The only problem he had was stumbling through some of the lines, which was understandable, given my tendency to write verbose blocks of dialogue, the fact he just read the script for the first time today, and also that English is

Wooow, so much goes into these things. I think my brain would be mush by now, but you've still got it all together. Yaaaaay, congrats! Try not to panic, though! (Another one of those things that just needs to be said, even if it's impossible to heed.)

I feel like I could try to give advice, but that it would just be stupid because I have no idea where one even begins to think about directing or scripting or whathaveyou. Could you work in bits and pieces of Russian in certain places? That works in writing, but I'm not sure how well it'd slide in film. I'm sure you've considered that already, though.

Best wishes for the next audition! I'm sure you'll get it all worked out before you know it... just in the nick of time when the best artistic decisions get made! :D

I'd recommend you avoid sliding in and out of russian and english throughout and stick with just one or the other. In Rome, they occasionally would speak one or two words in Latin, and I'd just be like, "Really? You've said hello before in English, why are you saying salve now?"
