Love is...

I'm so ashamed of myself. I realized that I have developed (and can easily develop) an "I don't care" attitude. And even if I'm not feeling that way in the moment, I can convince myself eventually that I don't care about something, even if I did to begin with. I don't like that. I want to care about things. But I realize it's probably another one ( Read more... )

I do agree with you. Often times love is completely over used. I'm a big fan that actions speak much louder than words. There are some people that are just so good at talking, you know the type. They can oh, so convince you to do and believe almost anything, but when it comes to actions, they fall way behind. It's like you hear what they say, you want to believe it and then they do something completely opposite. It's crazy. My parent's didn't really tell me they loved me all the time, but they certainly gave me lots of hugs and kisses. That tenderness always reminded me of how much they truly love me and how much I love them. I sometimes look at my BF and simply have to say ily, or simply give him a huge hug and a sweet gentle kiss, although I don't do it all the time. I believe love is felt, deep inside, and sometimes it gets cooler, not as strong as other times but it does live deep inside. Love lives best when cultivated with time and care. WHAT IS LOVE? anonymous September 25 2007, 05:18:47 UTC
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of forecasting and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND. IT DOES NOT ENVY, IT DOES NOT BOAST, IT IS NOT PROUD. IT IS NOT RUDE, IT IS NOT SELF-SEEKING, IT IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, IT KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS. LOVE DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL BUT REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. IT ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES. LOVE NEVER FAILS

So in short...we are asked to to love and to strive to love perfectly. Not that we can be perfect, but we try and when we fall short, we have a loving God that forgives us when we ask.
