Pic of the Day: October 10th
My creative juices really aren't flowing today, but I knew I had to take a picture of Alana with this scarecrow (that is actually a dog toy) that I bought at Target yesterday. If you don't already know, Alana is my "mini-me" doll, and when I was younger I had a little scarecrow that I'd gotten at a craft fair that I was incredibly attached to. I would look forward to seeing him every October (don't ask me why I never just kept him out year-round) but eventually I lost him, along with just about every other decoration from my childhood/teen years. The last year I recall seeing any of that old stuff was maybe 2007, and I'm not sure the scarecrow was even still around then. It's most definitely all long gone now, considering we didn't find any of it while packing up after Hurricane Sandy in 2012. If I could magically find one item from back then, I'd definitely want it to be him.
Anyway, this little dog toy scarecrow reminds me of him somehow. I'm not sure what it is, but I feel like maybe he's my scarecrow "reincarnated" in a way. So of course, I needed a picture of him with Alana. She sort of looks like she's getting ready to decorate, and keeping him with her every step of the way, which is what I remember doing with my own scarecrow years ago.
I'm really proud of all my pictures so far this year, and I'm hoping I can keep it up, considering I go back to work tomorrow. I'm still taking my other two weeks of vacation at the end of the month like always, but I just hate to waste even five days of the month with work.
