So what happens if I don't "believe" in Santa Claus, but would rather pretend there is a Santa Claus for my own edification, and perhaps a bit of Christmas cheer and glee (Also, just to be whimsical)? What does that say about god?
wait. you wish you had time...? Don't your thoughts just...exist? Why is there a desire for time? They don't have some kind of unwanted built-in time lapse feature do they? Where you can only think a thought for so long before it's pushed to the end of the conveyor belt, by which time it's either picked up and verbalized or lost and forgotten? Because while that might make for an interesting mental image, it's slightly more unsettling as an actual possibility.
Also, it's only sad and depressing if you let it sadden and depress you.

they do just "exist", but then much as you described, a thought only exists for so long before it falls off the end of a conveyor belt and is forever lost. not that it never existed, but without this verbalization or recording of some sort (or even with it), it is lost.
and i think it is only sad and depressing if you realize it, not merely because i allow it to sadden and depress me. If i am informed enough, then it is just so, with m tragic comprehension whether i want it to be or not. no?
i think that is a fantastic image...but also somewhat depressing.
