If I drink coffee, I get a stomachache.
If I don't drink coffee, I get a headache.
I just can't win.
Oh and by the way, I hate you Tim Hortons. I should have never given you a second chance!
(Tim Hortons is Toronto's version of Dunkin Donuts, but far more terrible.)
I figure I can start drinking coffee every other day, and then gradually stop all ( Read more... )

Have you tried taking only a shot or two of espresso?
Caffeine addiction is rough. I usually drink between 5-9 shots a day, but I've been cutting down lately. Either way, I hope you start feeling better.

I'm not sure if the espresso would help my stomach situation. It's stronger than coffee, at least for me. I do like it though! I like to put it in my coffee when I want an extra kick!

I think it depends on the kind of coffee, how I drink it, and what I eat with it. I've been drinking coffee for a while, and I've had all kinds of reactions to it.

I appreciate it. I'll try.

If you're getting bad heartburn, espresso may not help. You may need to take a strong antacid like Zantac 75 or 150 (whichever helps better). If you're feeling bloated and all that fun stuff, it could be the milk. There are soy options for that, but in my opinion it tastes gross, so I'd just cut back.

Either way, if you want to just cut back altogether follow the advice that tdawg02 left and go half-caf, then gradually to quarter-caf. That will help w/ the headaches, but you'll still crave the taste/aroma of coffee cuz let's face it, coffee is fucking awesome!

I don't think it's heartburn, it's more towards the digestion. Nah, I appreciate it, but I don't take those. I may take your advice on the milk though. Perhaps I'll try switching to half and half (cream).

I won't drink decaf. It's against my religion. I love coffee.

I'm against decaf. But thank you.
I might try something other than whole milk, and cut down on the size of the coffee.

I feel your pain, except mine comes in the form of diet coke. At the very least, I down a 2 liter bottle a day. I don't think I'll be quitting any time soon, either. They should seriously consider a caffeine patch.

Holy shit. That's a lot of soda! Or as they say up here, "pop". Sorry for my reaction, but I didn't know. Yeah, that would be a good idea (the patch).
