I totally agree about people needing to play the games/read up on the movie, before they watch it - Mike was dumbfounded by the whole thing, and bits where I was getting all excited and babbling about stuff, he was nonplussed. :(.
I felt that the "escaping from the testing facility" was simply a dull plot branch for people in 3D to see the fighting/Mila looking hot. It really didn't strike me as a strong piece of plot at all - they could have picked it up in a different way. Boat → getting pwned → omgtesting facility. Hmm!
I'm not super hot on the Las Plagas. I prefer the Zombies made by other zombies nomming on things. It makes RE feel more like an alien movie than a good old fashioned Zombie movie, ha ha. I guess they had to pursue the LP stories eventually though, and despite my reservations, they did a good job.
I loved Damnation though. :). Apart from the big fellas at the end, they seemed a little out of place to me, ha ha.
There were some moments that were just full of nerdy references to the games, and I loved that, especially everything to do with Ada Wong, I was pretty much squealing at everything :D
ohmygoodness, yes, I totally agree with you about that, there were so many better ways to fit that into the plot without making it so obvious :/
Plain old zombies > Las Plagas any day of the week, haha, the whole thing never seemed to make sense to me. But it worked okay in the movie, I liked how they (tried) to tie everything together, it set it up nicely for a 6th (and, I think, final) movie :)
Damnation!!! It was great! The crazy Mr X's at the end did seem majorly out of place, and would. not. die. haha, they were my favourite boss from the games :D
DAKHGDHGDAGADGH I haven't watched the movie yet. I heard on twitter than Leon wasn't as good looking as he is on the game though lol.
I actually agree that RE movies can be quite hard to understand if you haven't played the game or something. And if you do YOU SOMEHOW GET SPOLIERS ALREADY??????? Like the previous movie (afterlife i think?) while my friends were all WHO'S CHRIS IS HE THE BAD GUY I was just there like ~bro he's claire's brother I MEAN THEIR INITIALS ARE THE SAME do you guise rly don't geddit????~ lol i'm such a nerd.
Leon is... older :P he's a lot older than he is in the games, and a lot more grungy :P idk, I thought Leon was always a bit of a pretty boy in the games but in the movie he's totally different. His costume is similar though :)
Ada is awesome, and very true to the games.
Yesss, omg, that. The movie was all about the revelation that Chris was her brother and all us game fans were like LOL we've known since '98 :P it kind of meant that the whole surprise was ruined and that whole plotline was kind of... pointless :P

Ada is gorgeous and I'm gonna die if she doesn't look good.
I agree, I guess it was a pretty light movie since they pretty much recycled the story :B
