Name : Kojiro the Lapras
Series: Pokémon
Canon Point: HG\SS pre-main character battle
Age: Pokémon Age: 5 || Human Age: 23
Teaching Position: Psychiatrist
Dorm Room: TD-15

Personality: Zen. Totally Zen. Srsly though, he is generally calm and quiet, preferring to avoid conflict. Koji's the typical samurai/ye ancient Japanese stereotype. Being a Lapras, he prefers to be around water, even if it's a glassful. As a human, he'd love nothing more than to just sit near a small creek and meditate. He is at peace when surrounded by things he's familiar with, particularly since he's been separated from his pod. Often times when Kojiro is alone, he sings his pod's song.

Generally Kojiro is the level-headed one of the team, able to remain calm and collected during serious moment, and if need be, will do everything in his power to fight and protect those he loves. Once he opens up and trusts you, he is loyal until the end. Although he's the lowest in level and the last one to join Red's team, he is probably the wisest of them aside from Euphie.

Even with those hardships in his life, Kojiro always tries to remain optimistic. He believes everything happens for a reason, even if the outcome isn't always the one he hopes for. You simply just dust yourself off and keep on going, because you're never done learning in life and every experience should be cherished, no matter how painful they can be. He's generally a simple man though and doesn't dislike many things, although new concepts and experiences take him a bit to open up to. He's willing to try new things but can't instantly jump into them like some people can. After acquiring his human form, he's taken a liking to growing and maintaining bonsai plants and playing the shamisen. He also regularly practices meditation and Aikido.

Kojiro thinks very highly of Red. While the transition from being given to a new trainer was a bit difficult at first, seeing how Red treated the rest of his Pokémon reassured him that he was in good hands. Even in the scientist wasn't his real trainer, he wouldn't just give him to anyone. He's very fond of his trainer and, while he is his Pokémon, sometimes offers him his advice or opinion on certain matters. During their travels, he was always supportive of Red, and while he made sure not to become over confident, he was certain that Red could accomplish anything. Maybe not always on the first try but he would eventually achieve his goal.

Kojiro gets along fairly well with the rest of Red's team (although he does question their intelligence when they do stupid or ridiculous things.) He's the straight man when it comes to their crazy antics, usually not really wanting to be a part of it. He'd prefer to handle this calmly and… more seriously. You know, so they won't get their asses beaten. 8| Kojiro might come across as a sourpuss at times but he's just trying to think logically. He enjoys Euphie's company the most, seeing as she's relatively calm like him. Sasha and Vinnie are like the mischievous twins, Marie is the little brother, Sonny is the older brother, and Euphie as the companion and good friend. Even if he usually doesn't show it, he's very protective of his fellow team mates. Just try not to use the nickname "Koko" - he really isn't fond of that. The only person that can get away with it is Sasha and that's only because she never listened to him when he told her to stop and he finally got used to it.

When it comes to meeting new people and Pokémon, Kojiro is generally friendly but his opinion will remain on the neutral side until he gets to know them better. He also tries to avoid down-right hating someone. Hate is a powerful and corrupt emotion - and unless you're not a real bastard, Kojiro is willing to give people a second chance.

Backstory: Due to Lapras being endangered, Silph Co. scientists caught a herd of them to protect them from being caught by poachers. Kojiro was caught at a young age. The scientists who looked after him were generally kind, making sure he was content along with the rest of his pod. It wasn't until one fateful day when Team Rocket invaded when Kojiro's world turned upside down. One of the scientists returned him to his pokéball and stayed in hiding. Thankfully for the both of them, the scientist witnessed Red defeating his rival and knew Team Rocket would prove no challenge for the young trainer, so he entrusted Red with the young Lapras.

Kojiro was nervous about his new trainer, having gotten so used to his daily routines with the scientists but was quickly won over once he saw how close Red was with his Pokémon - and how it wasn't like owner and master - more like team members: A family. From then on, Kojiro began to open up to Red and eventually became completely loyal, providing him with a ways of water transportation and, of course, a strong battle partner. When Red first let him back out in to the water shortly after he obtained him, Kojiro had nearly forgotten how it was to be in the ocean. It was a wonderful experience. The sun shining brightly, the gentle waves crashing against him and swaying him in the water, and the comfortable temperature - nothing had been tampered by man kind.

He traveled with Red all through out Kanto and Johto. One of his most memorable fights was against Blaine's Magmar. Generally Koji preferred not to fight against Gym leaders but since Blaine's specialty was fire, surely he wouldn't fare too bad, right? Koji was able to defeat Magmar and knocked out half of Rapidash's HP before Red switched back to Marie to finish it off. From then on, Kojiro was a bit more confident about fighting in gym battles. His moves were especially helpful during their travels through Victory Road. After the Johto events, for God knows what reason, they made a home on a deserted mountain. They remained there for quite some time until Red left for Smash Academy. Kojiro, feeling a little trainer-sick, suggested that they move back to Pallet Town with Red's mother - and so they did. (Much to mommy's dismay. But the ocean was right next to them…! Ah, what a perfect, quaint little town.)

A number of months later, they received a letter from some weird flying turtle. It was from Red, updating them on everything that had happened at the Academy and… how Green had just arrived. Deciding to surprise him with their arrival and to help defend him against his rival, they set out to join him at Smash Academy.

The only bad thing with this plan was he was going to have to leave his bonsais at home.

Kojiro remained at the Academy for about half a year before returning home after graduation. He felt as though he hadn't earned his right to say he had graduated and began to feel restless. Once he left the Academy, Kojiro had to put his curiosity to rest. He set out along the Johto/Kanto seas to try and find his pod. The trip took several months and while he met some new Pokémon and trainers, and saw many amazing sights, he never did find his original family. On his way back to Kanto he realized he was okay with that. He wasn't meant to find them. Everything happens for a reason, after all, and he was content with that.

Upon his return, he has applied for the Psychologist position.
