PERMISSION POST
First off, Euphrosyne is a psychic-type pokemon (obviously) and is of the super-empath variety. This means she can read your mind. The problem with this kind of character is that it indeed, because of her ability in a roleplaying environment like this, feels like extreme godmodding. She violates a pet peeve of players, those that play villains for example, of knowing who they are ahead of time, which makes deceiving them a little tricky.
I'm going to try the best I can to play this girl responsibly.
In most cases, she will just skim your surface thoughts (basically, whatever thoughts you allow your character to express in a post, the character's feelings, etc. -- very whatever is of the moment they're thinking about). In rarer cases, she might have to go deeper, tapping into memories and subconscious workings. In the rarest cases, she can completely engage a character's senses and place you somewhere else entirely, like akin to being in a dream. She can also place mental images into character's heads. 90% of the time, it will be on the "surface" and made to be obvious as a transmission from her. 10% of the time, it could be of the invasive variety of placing thoughts and images into a character's brain.
The extremes of these scenarios are plot-based, so I will be IMing people on a case by case basis if these situations arise. For now, I can offer a waiver for even surface skimming and some deep memory reading if she's feeling like the cat she resembles and curious what another pokemon, human or other might be thinking.
Here you go, guide to the form and then the copypasta codin':
(This can be a bit tl;dr, I'm sorry.)
IM/Contact: How would you like me to contact you, if I need to for threading questions? On AIM, expect an OkamiTetsuo to try to nag for permission!
Characters and Permissions: For each character:
Character: S/he, it, who they be.
How Deep?: Here is a short thing of the levels, again -- you're free to give specifics of what I am allowed to do and not allowed, please do!:
Skimming -- I do this kinda, but I'd like to make sure. Also some characters might have mental guards too, or be trained against psychics, be mechanical or coding-based, an AI, etc. that could be a barrier to a clean reading. She can read sentient machines, but it's going to be giving back coding or something. In other words, just current thoughts and feelings.
Surface Memory -- The above, but Euphrosyne is allowed to read into the recent memories of a character. If there are any important memories and feelings Euphrosyne is allowed to reference, you're free to link journal posts. She will experience them from your character's eyes, as that is the point of reference for them. The more dramatic, secret stuff is off-limits.
Deep Memory -- Bigger, darker stuff is here, but Euphrosyne will have to dig a bit to see them, and your character will feel it. She can also view bits and pieces of your character's history. You're free to give me reference materials and wiki stuff for this, so I can research your character if she needs to check them out and be that intrusive. Mostly the first "Skimming" level is what will be "used" 90% of the time I am guessing.
Remember: This isn't carte blanche; I will likely ask for details and things still. I don't know everyone's comfort levels and characters well enough, but this is also me getting to know Smash better in the wake of starting out with a character that is too aggressive to be proactively social. :'D
What Will She See?: Anything foremost or pervasive in a character's mind she might pick up? For example, is the character OCD, obsessive, or frequently locked into a persistent train of thought? Is the character fixated on something? If the character is a machine or code, or even a god, could you describe what this might look like to an organic brain trying to "read" it? It does not mean she will understand what she gets -- I doubt she would know C++ or something.
Landscaping: For fun, if Euphie is allowed, she can maybe perceive a mental landscape of your character. What do you think it looks like? It can be a literal landscape, or a fond memory or place they like to return to. In cases of sensory engagement, the character might be placed here. It does not have to be a comfortable, wonderful place either; a character whose life centers around combat might have a mental plane dominated by a warscape. I'd like to get to know your character!
Anything Else?: Psychic training? Allergic to purple?
