2013 ICON PROGRESSION
So this is it! The end of the year is almost here and it's time for my first icon progression ever!
I'm so excited about this, actually.
This has been a wonderfull year graphically speaking. I improved a lot, I like to think that I developed my own personal style and it's been really funny to look at the differences between my icons as the months went by.
So, here we go, hope you'll enjoy it :P
In this month I got my first graphic tablet and I was super excited about it, I wanted to experiment with brushes and colors, and lines, and basically everything!
In this month everything is super colored or super brushed up, really. I started cutting off backgrounds replacing it with colors.
J A N U A R Y
Time for a bit of fonts here!
Text has always been my weak spot so I decided I could use some improvment in that area and I started to put it basically everywhere.
And I'm always cutting off backgrounds but I'm also adding a bit of painting in the hair area.
F E B R U A R Y
I didn't graphic a lot in this month, actually.
I'm elaborating a bit more the dark icons which I really don't like doing, they're definitely not my area. Text is always present in some form along with some random painting.
As you can see in the last one, I'm also trying to get back to my pastel colors.
M A R C H
Nothing in particular this month. There's always text, alongside with some painting here and there.
I'm basically tryin' to improve what I already experimented before and also I'm trying to get a grip on lights and shadows since they're a weakness of mine.
A P R I L
This month is all about colors! Vibrance everywhere.
I really love playin' around with colors and this month I voted my self to that. I'm trying to add some texture here and there because I don't use them so much.
Also trying different composition but mostly end up with negative spaces and central crops.
M A Y
Time for some text again. Actually, from this month on I'm using text basically everywhere.
I'm using it as decoration, as background, as accent, as everything!
I just can't see my icons without text anymore, they look so empty to me. Also, pastel colors are back!
J U N E
Back to compositions. My greatest weakness ever.
Using a lot of textures here, at least for my standards. Playin' around with colors and of course using text to complete it all and make it look more full of details.

Compositions here too. A bit of blending, a bit of brush and textures.
I found myself working on opposites: either colorfull icons or almost black and white ones.
A U G U S T
This is the Skins month. I barely iconed anything else!
And of course text is everywhere!
Back where I started basically: not many textures, a lot of text, loads of light balls and also a lot of colors.
S E P T E M B E R
So, September, back from holidays so a bit rusty but still trying to add some more elements to my icons.
Bit of compositions, bit of textures and also colors and vibrance everywhere. But I didn't actually iconed a lot in this month.
O C T O B E R
If we have a Skins month, we also have a Teen Wolf month!
And it's also time to go pale again, and play around with lights and darks.
Not much of text or texture these month, I'm going a bit simpler this time.

And here we are, at the final moment of my journey for this year. My first year on livejournal.
This month I experimented a lot with colors and especially with brushes and textures, as you can see in the last icon.
Text is everywhere again. A bit of painting, always lights and shadows and most of all: no original brackground to be seen anywhere anymore!
