Andy Warhol once referred to his muse/subject/friend, Edie Sedjwick, as a fascination that he experienced as something, "probably very close to a certain kind of love." but when asked about her following her death, he simply said "he hardly knew her at all". i find this both intriguing and saddening. i dislike that facts in our heads may be lies ( Read more... )

Yes, exactly. I've been noticing that every girl I start seeing is super closed off from being so hurt. I understand people get hurt but if you don't put yourself out there you'll never find love. I've been mega hurt but I'm still willing to risk my heart being broken to find the person I'm supposed to be with. Not just with love, but with friends too, I give all of myself.

i feel and hear ya, tho much easier said then done. and i agree, i give all of myself on confident days. i just need to have more of those days..

and also, it's about perfection and covering all bases, isn't it? it seems it's the only way we would know if the love we give is really enough in any relationship. if yes, then wonderful. but if it's not enough, when measured at some point, then at least, we can say we did not cheat ourselves out of our very best. :)
