How often do you have to go through this rigamarole? Keeping up on certs is one thing, but $500 a pop? That's a bit ripussylous. How do they expect you to make any profit?

The shop gets inspected and the $500 fee yearly. Plus $50 for any additional work stations in the shop. And I suspect Illinois will be starting to see less conventions, since the fee for a temporary license, BEFORE you pay booth fees or any other convention costs, is $200. Fortunately all the yearly BBP/UP courses are available online for $20-$50. And they're working on making inspections for each artist in the shop as well as the shop as a whole (KA-CHING!)

Oh, there'll be a follow up visit, which is just part of it, and I pay for the license separately, once a year.
