Hey! I'm from teenmommies2 and I just thought I'd check out your livejournal. Don't feel alone with your mom acting like your daughter is hers because my mother is the same way! But, my mom also gets upset easy and so... I too try not to say anything. I don't live with my mom - but I live a whole mile away - and if I don't bring Dominick by to see her eveery day she gets upset and freaks out and says stuff like "i want to see my baby!" I can't complain too much though - because she's been a huge help, a major supporter, and i don't know if i could have gone through everything without her. Anyways - don't feel alone and if you come up with a gentle way to tell your mom to back off... please share ;-)

Yea my mom is the same way! She gets upset easy.. If I want to feeed her because I just got home from work all day and i want to feed her my mom gets all upset.. If I tell her that I dont want her to drink apple juiice becuase I want to ask the ped. first shes like "What do u think im going to do something thats going to harm her" Im like no mom, But its my daughter! Its so annoying.. But like u said they are a major help. Im only 18 and was preg at 17.. And me and my boyfriend live here.. Shes a lot of help and she watches her while im at work and wants me and my boyfriend go out to eat alone and have some time *whcih we dont like to do to often* But still its hard!! I dont like telling her not to do things either becuase i dotn like hurting her feelings.. Now my parents are buying a new house for alll of us.. But me andmy boyfriend are looking ot move out in the summer :( My dad knows we are planning it but my mom thinks were going to be there forever! omg.. LOL..It sucks..

I don't live with my parents - we have a little townhouse - but my mom is ALWAYS telling me "hey, you guys could all move in here - there's plenty of room" "you can't really afford to live on your own - you could move in here and save up money for the baby and for a house later" or... anything like that. and then when I tell her that I'm happy where I'm at she gets all sad.

I got pregnant at 17 too, and though they may be very annoying - I think we're both pretty lucky overall. I had a friend who got pregnant at 16 and her parents kicked her out.

I still wish that my mom would back off a little bit. She even hogs my son from my dad - so whenever I'm over there playing with him my dad comes up to me and gives me this sad look and asks if he can hold Dominick because my mom has been hogging him the whole time. It's kinda sweet.

btw - I don't think you're supposed to give your baby juices until they're 6 months but they can have baby foods at 4 months. Atleast - that's what WIC and my Ped. told me.
