Today Mars is the closest to Earth it has been in about 60,000 years. You've probably heard about it, but it's worth a look. It's purdy.

Today, in Astronomy class, we learned why it isnt a huuuge deal. If you missed it last night, wait fifteen years, it will be the exact same thing. I could explain it, but it is more helpful to use charts. Then again, you could always go out and look at it tonight, or tomorrow, it will be about the same for a few more months.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't been in my astronomy classes for about a year, so if I had, I would have known about that, since the teacher loved to dispel myths. But yeah, I did not know that.
