Sunday off.  What a novelty.  We went out for lunch, we slept through any time that breakfast could realistically happen, and did a little shopping.  Got the daughter new shoes and a pair for the wife, did a little shopping at Target and picked up prescriptions and then home.  I laid on the couch all afternoon and read a book.  Something I rarely

I have a weird fascination with books written from about 1890 - 1955 which are targeted at girls.

Have you read Jean Webster yet? "Daddy Long Legs" and "Dear Enemy," of course, but it turns out she wrote a bunch of other girls' novels as well and they're all available as free downloads from Google Books. I just read a boarding school story called "Just Patty," and except for the headmistress's disturbing belief that girls who get bullied in school usually deserve it, it was funny and quite enjoyable.
