sometimes do you ever just think about how things could have turned out differently, not for the better maybe not even for the worse, just different. i never liked the idea of fate because i cannot stand the idea that what i do has already been determined. sometimes it feels like i can't escape it and the more i try the more i seem to be running ( Read more... )

i've never adhered to the belief in fate or anything else that revolved around some predetermined idea. it does rob us of free will, and without that we can't fault anyone for anything. not the murderers, not the fourth grade teachers, not the 13 year old shoplifter at the mall. so while the idea that laws and responsibility are completely negated is a fun one, it's sadly just a crutch for people who absolutely need a reason for everything, and when they can't find one they just reassure themselves by saying it was meant to be. most of the time people know exactly why they did something, they just can't admit it to themselves.

so nothing is ever carved in stone. things can be changed just not taken back

yes, of course. most anything can be changed. the thing is, i can't think of anything involving more than one person that can be taken back.
