Ironic, I was thinking about this today. What I came to was based on me, and my current situation. Its not only the fact that we fear the judgement of others for our authenticity that we put one these "masks" as I put it, but because we choose not to burden others with our personal issues. I know that recently I have been acting all happy go lucky in school (except that day in economics) when inside I am pulling my hair out and punching holes in walls. But I came to the conclusion about the masks we wear. Society has shaped us to where the problems of the individual are no longer relevant to the masses, and something that is not relivant is not to be mentioned. Hence forth, it is not only that we fear the reactions of the masses, but if we were to get an authentically caring reaction we have no idea how we would react. To be honest the other day when Malory gave me a hug (in access) because she asked me about Ryan, and it wasn't good news.....I seriously didn't know what to do. I said thanks, but what does one say when they are faced
( ... )
You put a more solid conclusion to my random babblings. Thank you for that, big time.
And it also means a lot to me that you want to know what is wrong in my life (even though it is, admittedly, slightly self-inflicted) when you are dealing with your own issues. After I read that, I got a little teary-eyed, to be completely honest.
But I too know how it goes... when your life is bad, it's always nice to try and help someone else make their life better. Hey, if you can't fix your own, you might as well fix other people's, right?
I'm seriously considering either making this whole journal friends only or at least creating a whole new friends only journal. We shall see.
Well I am glad that you understood what I wrote. But I could have ranted about that for a lot longer so you got the abridged version. I don't think I understood it as I wrote it. lol
Well I would say sorry to make you all teary-eyed but in this sence I think it is a good thing lol. And basically by me focusing on other people's problems I normally come to a conclusion to fix my own. So please don't hesitate to use the couch of Dr. BryBry (lol private joke between me and friends, since I want to be a shrink one day). And if you make a new one give me the sn so I can come and be your free shrink. Though just fair I have a tendency to be rudely blunt. SO please don't take offense to anything I would say.
