I seee. Your main character could have both regular arm and a powerful, robot arm. The hand on the robot arm needn't be a three pronged claw, exactly, but that certainly wouldn't hurt. I mean, that would really grab my interest... and not just because thrice pronged robot arms can really grab hard. I'm thinking; subtlety.
