BETTER GET READY...TO BOW TO THE MASTERS! Break it down!

Guess who's been doing iconmaking at ungodly hours again?  Yeah.  Me.

This time I went crazy making icons using screenshots from the Bardock special.

You know, one day I'm going to probably make Wrestling icons.

Then you can laugh harder at me.

Well...here goes.

1.  What was the last book you bought?
The Pocket DJ.  Man, that book has opened up a door to new music that I didn't even think of before, and some songs I'd forgotten I loved.  Hell, it's helped me find songs I didn't know I'd like by some of my favorite artists.

2.  Name a book you have read more than once.
The Outsiders.  My copy of it is so worn from having been read dozens of times that it's not funny.  It's also tearstained.

3.  Has a book ever changed how you fundamentally see life?
The Art of Worldly Wisdom.  I've learned lessons from that book that changed everything about facets of me.

4. How do you choose a book? e.g. by cover design and summary, recommendations or reviews?
I actually don't have a set favorite way. Sometimes a book looks nice on the cover.  Sometimes I snoop through the summary and end up liking a book.  Sometimes someone reccommends a really good one to me.  It really isn't constant.

5.  Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction?
While I love non-fiction (my favorite being Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks by Mick Foley), I've got a bigger love of fiction--says the Mitz with every S.E. Hinton novel ever written, half the Xanth novels, the Dragonriders of Pern novels, Fahrenheit 451, and all the Harry Potter books.

6.  What's more important in a novel -- beautiful writing or a gripping plot?
I actually think a balance between both the beautiful writing and the gripping plot is important.  But if I really have to choose one, I'm going to go with that gripping plot, even if it looks like shit.  I read for the plot and the characters, not for the pretty words.

7.  Most loved/memorable character?  (Character/book)
Dallas Winston from The Outsiders.  He's a deep and complex character underneath the bad-boy archetype; his "brotherly" relationship with Johnny really added a depth to him that has made me never forget him.

8.  What was the last book you read and when was it?
The Pocket DJ.  I'm constantly reading that.  Sometimes you'll find really interesting stories behind the songs.

9.  Have you ever given up on a book halfway in?
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to say I did this with Breaking Dawn.  It was...It was just too godawful a train wreck.  I had been able to tolerate Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.  But I drew the line about halfway through Breaking Dawn.  It...ugh.  It was ungodly awful to me.

10.  Can you recommend a good book to me? If so, what is it?
I recommend Foley is Good: And the Real World is Faker Than Wrestling by Mick Foley.  It will change how you start to take life--I used to be srsbsns until I read this.  If a guy who's been through as much shit as Mick Foley can still have a hoot about life, so can I.  You know?

11.  Is there a book you haven't read, and should have?
I'm going to say the His Dark Materials trilogy.  I've been wanting to read it, but never could be arsed to.

quiz meme thing, wtf self, lololol meme, lulz wrestling icons maybe?, booknerd, meme, iconmaking
