I burn my fingers every time I light my stove because I use a faulty lighter to light a piece of paper then bring it to the burner. I then have to quickly blow out the piece of paper. vinegar, with or without baking soda, may be a cheaper/easier cleaning supply than the official things.

doesn't work for *everything*.... but may be useful.
