I'm on-call.  The last three months I have been on-call I have had to go to our program out River Road area to respond to issues.  Sometimes twice.  This time I get to work most of an awake overnight shift.  Midnight to 6am.  Did I mention I've been awake since 8am on this Sunday?  Every time I laid down to take a snooze the damned on-call phone ( Read more... )

My grandpa had a bad reaction last night to the treatment he is on and had a seizure.  So now he's on anti-seizure meds too on top of everything else.  Oh and meds to help his kidneys function as the antibiotic he is on is really hard on one's kidneys.  My sister corrected me on my grandpa's age.  He's 86.  I still haven't been in to see him and he ( Read more... )

Grandpa is still in the hospital.  They did a spinal tap on Wednesday.  Turns out, he has (insert long unpronounceable unless you're in the medical profession disease name here) which amounts to being shingles.  In your brain.  So that would definitely cause one to believe they are having a stroke.  Good news is that it is treatable.  Bad news, it' ( Read more... )

My grandpa had a mild stroke and is in the hospital.  Ryan and I went to see him but he was sleeping.  I went in and touched his shoulder, but he didn't stir, so we left so he could sleep.  At least he wasn't hooked up to a bazillion machines like when he was in ICU after surgery.  My grandpa is a strong man but he's in his 80's.  I think it's ( Read more... )

Still doing well at work.  My boss is proud of what I have accomplished.  One of my staff got the employee of the month for December.  I'm proud because I wrote the nomination and he won.  About darn time.  Now I have to think of something creative in order to photo bomb him and then get him to the main office on Wednesday AM without him knowing to ( Read more... )

I have been invaded by a cold.  And of course this is the week I'm going out of town for a conference and will be attending a one day seminar over the weekend.  I'm still thinking I need to take Monday off next week seeing as how I'll be working Saturday by attending the conference.  I'm also going to try and make it through the staff meeting ( Read more... )
