I'm a random person who found your journal through your post to the wpi community.
mashed potatos are a troublesome food... in my world mashed potatos are just plain old potatos, allowing one to eat them with yummy food like steak even though in the kosher world that is a big no. i follow the rest of the rules... mostly...
but anyways, better luck next time ;)
