First off I'm a major fan of Avatar The Last Airbender. Despite many anime fans disliking this show I adore it! I adore it for many reasons other than the cute characters but it has a beautiful story and fantastic messages that are told throughout the series. So I am excited that the movie trailers looks so amazing! Of course we have all seen the ( Read more... )

m. night is kinda hit or miss with me on his films. However, since this isn't something he created, and this awesome looking trailer im looking foward to seeing this film.

Yeah the story doesn't belong to him so I think in that sense since he worked really close with the creator it shouldn't deviate to much from the original.

I was never a really big fan of the show (only seen one or two episodes), so this trailer really didn't do much for me. The special effects seem very overly flashy and there's some really obvious blue screen here. But still, it might end up being better than I expected. M. Night has made a truly great movie since Signs.

Well I'm an action fanatic and a lover of cheesy kung movies still XD so maybe it's why I like it! haha.

Yeah the show is geared towards children. It's wasn't geared towards ages 13 and up. But I still like it.

It isn't a bad series at all. In fact, from what I had watched, I found it mildly entertaining. It's a really great introduction into anime for people who wouldn't ordinarily be interested in it.

And I just noticed a really bad mistake in my last post. Meant to say that M. Night had yet to make another great movie since Signs, not that he had. He's really slipping as a director, I think. Though, The Sixth Sense is a masterpiece.

shhhhhhhhh.....most anime fans would be most displeased at you referring to Avatar/Airbender as an anime....I learned this the hard way when I said what you said. Except I said I thought it was a great way to expose to American children certain concepts that are similar from that series to animes. Then I got a an earful of hate cause they said ITS NOT AN ANIME, ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE, ITS NOT MADE IN JAPAN...blah blah blah blah.
Sometimes "otakus" as they refer to themselves are a bit over the top. I really don't think it's that deep.

I can't wait to see this movie!
I still can't believe Dev Patel and Jackson Rathbone are in it! :O

yeah it's weird cause they originally were going to have Jesse McCartney play Zuko and not Dev but then Jesse couldn't do it cause he was going on a tour. I personally wish they would have chosen a japanese kid but the previous make me think Dev did a great job so we shall see.
Jackson Rathbone make a very cute Sokka though :D
