Well I'm still here, but it seemed that I wasn't using my LJ for much more than to account for what had been going on in my daily life. Which didn't happen to be much during the summer. Excellent. We're now about 100 miles from Hawaii--so we could pull in tomorrow, but we're hanging back a couple of days while the Marines do their thing. *sigh* Still, there's an LCAC (that's the big hovercraft) ride tomorrow, and a beach party on Sunday, so we won't be too bored. I've been reading this book called Unintended Consequences that Dad loaned me (it's actually in decent shape, considering the condition he usually leaves books in!). It is a fictionalized account of the history of gun control, and some of the side effects resulting from it--hence the title ( Read more... )
