[The view of route 31 is nice enough. The sun is peeking between the clouds and shining upon the snow, which looks pure and untouched... Except for a small section where a Dratini is attacking every wild Pokémon he sees while a Feebas cheers him on. Luckily, their trainer is feeling too nostalgic to scold them ( Read more... )

actually happy, weather is gonna turn ugly, backtracking for castmate, finally in violet

Catching them is easy enough. You attack a few times to weaken them, and then you throw a pokéball at them. Putting them to sleep also helps, and so do attacks that cause paralysis.

Some of the weakest Pokémon can even be caught without attacking, though it might take a few tries. But pokéballs can only be thrown once, so you have to be certain that you have enough.

They come from eggs?

All of them. The fish, the birds, the mammals, the rocks... And all the eggs manage to be the same size, somehow.

[ She looks interested in that tidbit, and remembers seeing some of the larger Pokemon others have shown her and wonders... they came from a tiny egg? She nods in vague understanding, though, then regards him carefully. ]

You're... Cecil, right? Roxas told me about you.

[They aaaaall did. Even the six foot long dragon that is currently massacring Bellsprouts.]

Did he, now? Indeed, I am Cecil. Do you happen to be Xion?

I'll be glad to see you again, Cecil.
[Edward then smiles a tiny bit -- he's resting up in an inn room, don't worry about him at the moment.] As for captured Pokemon, I have already caught another. [Or, more like, it insisted on traveling with him.] A Pidgey... that is what your species is called, Lullaby? [He's asking the Pokemon who... seems to have made a nest on his hat, at the edge of the filming area. :|]

And I am glad to see you, Edward. Did your journey go well?

Pidgeys make good companions. In their last evolution stage, they are tall enough to fly with a human rider on their back.

It went better then I thought it would. One of my companions had a fire-type, so none of us got too cold.

They grow that large? I suppose that's not unreasonable, but...

That is quite lucky. Speaking of which, did you happen to meet a young man named Pence and a young lady named Xion on the way?

Reaching that height will take a few weeks. You'll have an adorable little bird for some time still.

I have not caught a wild pokemon since Sarah. Still, my team has grown a good deal since then.

That was at the end of October, was it not? Yet between those Christmas eggs, the ones people have sold, and Firion's... [He lets that sentence trail off. He knows he has no need to finish it.]

I have had five additions to my team since then.

[Also kind of not mentioning from where, since most of those additions were actually Firion's pokemon.]

Three eggs, one gift, Leila and this one, for a total of six. ['This one' is quite possibly the Riolu that is now trying to jump on top of Kayne's head.] The size of my team tripled since I caught Esuna.

For the most part, yeah.

[There's a pause, and Zidane shifts around.]

So, where are you now Cecil?

I think Christmas made us all lazy. We received and received, so we completely forgot to catch.

In Violet. [He smiles softly.] I'll leave for Cherrygrove tonight. Then, once I've spoken to Edward, I'll escort a few people back to Violet. ...I'm not quite certain what I should do first, after that.

Pretty much. This cold weather thing has made me lazy period.

Oh, okay! Good to know you're getting there at least. [He pauses, then tilts his head.] What do you mean by 'you're not certain'?

Having to travel back to Cherrygrove put a stop to my laziness, at least.

Wel, I'd not want to leave Edward alone too quickly. Yet there are some supplies that can only be bought in Goldenrod, and some of them would be useful for my new team members. ...I also think that we are ready to challenge the Ecruteak Gym. That makes three options.
