Finally, the plane ride was over. Derrick didn't expect for the trip to actually happen after the scanners messed up and the robot attack, but here they were. Thankfully, Jack and Hajime sat no where near him on the flight; Derrick made sure to keep his distance after the flight as well. He... just didn't know what to think. Part of him wanted to accept Jack as he was, but another part was really fearful of what he heard. And he wasn't sure what to make of Hajime. However, Derrick couldn't help but feel hurt and wonder if he was just going to have to face the inevitable. People come and go, and a lot of people were just going. Derrick wasn't very good at keeping his friends.
He dropped off his backpack with his clothes for the trip on the small table by the window and took out a notebook with a page of questions stuck inside of it. Derrick sat down and started to review them. There were a lot of them, but it would be a good distraction once they actually got to the expo. He'd make a good report of the event. It was the reason he went in the first place. Derrick brought out his phone too for good measure.
