I always cry when I see that video (I was at school in Wales that year) but I also marvel how Manly it is. Nice to see sexism in the music industry has indeed improved over the years.

I'm so happy to know that someone else noticed that the girls only got to sing in the chorus, that always kind of bothered me. Of course, all those boys are so very pretty and wear so much hair product - maybe they figured that took care of any perceived sexism.

Who were the big British/Irish female pop stars of 1984? I don't really know because I was listening pretty exclusively to heavy metal by that time.
