Need a ride? was the answer she received only a little while later. Maybe he'd been keeping a close eye on his phone lately and chances were he'd call if she ignored it for too long.

Caroline didn't want to be a burden or for Jake to think she was incapable of walking a few blocks to her house in safety. So her quick reply of I'm good. hopefully helped him understand that.

The ringtone earned an eyeroll and a slightly huffy answer. "I can walk home without being kidnapped, I promise."

Jake had somehow survived the movie. He hoped. He was pretty sure his brain had dribbled from his ear at some point. The way they'd portrayed the werewolves had been simply stupid, never mind the vampires... or the humans for that matter. The only reason he hadn't run away was because Caroline had been close and he'd let his hands wander from time to time to entertain himself.

Sure, she'd just slapped them away and shushed him, but that had only made it more interesting. So he supposed he couldn't complain too much. Not that he wasn't going to try. "That was awful. I don't think I'll ever be able to enter a theatre again."

"I do not! I have excellent taste, I'm dating you, aren't I?" he protested, making a face at her. "I think that just says more about the rest of the movies."

"While you might have a point there, I don't think you can judge until you've sat through the others," she offered. "Or did you want to stop at a Red Box and get them on our way home?"
