To build on what Jen already mentioned from the Bible, our faith is also part of the inheritance we seek leave our children but long before we die.

I agree with Gods word. This just made me think about things in this world that are outside of my way of thought. I am raising my children the best I can towards Jesus but what if i fail and they turn into something i disagree with or flat out won't accept.

If your children put their faith in something other than the one true God, this is not necessarily a failure on your part. Surely, you should strive to instill the truth in them, but it is ultimately between them and God as to whom they will serve.

Our job, as a parent, is to teach our kids what we know. And we will teach them our religion out of hand. And I use the term religion loosely. After all, what is religion? Money, self, sex, drugs, materialism, socialism, and so on can all be religions. So the question still stands in that light - what right does any parent have to pass on ANY religion?

Now Faith, in its many forms, will still be passed on in that same fashion. Passed on out of hand as a matter of a child's up bringing. It is what that child does with it that is the more important matter.
