I know everyone's probably been getting this on their flists, but please--do not repost anything onto Twitter or Facebook from my journal without my permission. Till they give us a disable option I'm TRUSTING YOU ALL. OKAY? GOOD. (Seriously though, LJ can go fuck itself with that. We don't want to post things everywhere we are capable of opening ( Read more... )

here you go BB.

Although it personally doesn't really bother me that much haha. No I don't want to repost anything to Twitter or facebook. But I just won't.

I already got that installed, and it only removes the buttons, not the actual repost stuff. And I'm not worried about me crossposting, but other people can cross post comments from your journals--even if they are locked--to Facebook or twitter, and some comments can give away what the journal was about? It's a huge breach of everyone's security since it's not just your choice if you want to post stuff, anyone can.

HRGHH.

Yeah except everyone's pissed off about it, so no one is going to do that lol. Especially if it's locked, because those are your friends you can probably trust them. Plus, how likely is it you would have to worry about someone from RL seeing something that someone from the internet posted on facebook? How likely is it even to happen with two separate friends from the internet? I mean, I agree that there should be an option to disable it. I just think people are sorta overreacting.

Then again, I usually take the "whatever"/"idgaf" route about things, so I tend to find I think people are overreacting about things a lot lol.

Yeah I know, but there's still a high risk factor. I mean I doubt people will be using it because, like you said, everyone is pissed about it, but I'm more irritated that LJ didn't think to ask the users what they wanted. On the update to the update they actually said themselves that they like privacy too--so why the HELL did they include it? 8| I'm just happy greasemonkey fixed the clicky buttons, because hell if I need something else to accidentally press.

This whole social networking shebang is ridiculous. I do not approve. I want a big ol' disable button so I can just get rid of it right now. I don't even want to repost by accident.

SOUND OF MUSIC. SOUND OF MUSIC.

I think everyone wants a disable button. EVERYONE. I didn't see one person on the update who thought it being mandatory was a good idea.

Someone on my twitter feed posted a link to a poll last night that supposedly LJ is paying attention too. Idk, lemme see if I can find it.

They did an update on the post last night saying they were addressing our comments, but whether or not they are actually going to be addressed is debatable.

THE PAGES IN THE RED LIGHT AT THE BEGINNING ARE LOOKING SO UGLY ATTI I DON'T 8(

... but if you are that anxious you could always just refresh this page every so often, since it's where I upload them, ahem.

I have no idea whether they'll address it because from the pov of a corporation, this is just a blip, but maybe there's still some heart left in there, idk.

here's the poll, if you're interested.

sob sometimes the color-correcting that needs to be done for YA pages is so awful i can't even contemplate it. which is why i pretty much never bother to make icons of it

/peers REALLY, I SHOULD JUST ADD YOUR ICON JOURNAL

I am amused that only 10 people out of almost 4000 like this idea. That is just. Wow. LJ why don't you get FEEDBACK from your users before leaping into doing stuff? It would save you so much hassle.

Yeah, I always have to colour correct the YA pages, which makes iconning them a pain. Then I get the hang of one issue and they change the pallet completely. THEY ARE MAKING IT WAY TOO HARD FOR ME >:|

KFJNDGKJ IF YOU WANT?? I still have a load of pages to get through and now at least the colours aren't BATHED IN RED. oh wait everyones faces are sunburned. fml.
