so today at dinner i realized that i've missed out on alot of college and life experiences. i feel so naive right now. when people talk about certain things i have no idea what they're saying and i need to have it explained to me. i feel like a prude and i know i shouldn't. i should be satisfied with doing something completely out of the ordinary

I kind of know how you feel, that "holy crap, did I really miss out?" feeling. I'm inclined to disagree when I find myself saying that I "missed out" on college life. I go to a pretty strict Christian college where there's no general academic drunkenness/fornication/hazing/violation of personal property because we have belief-based community standards, and if that's what "college life" is supposed to be, then I'm glad I missed out. I may not have any stories about how I got so drunk I peed on myself, but then again, I was never so drunk that I peed on myself. Apparently that's an accomplishment for some people. So yeah, you'll probably feel like a prude when you're with old friends who have had the "full college experience" ('cause I sure did my first weekend back from school, and surely enough I still do) but ultimately I think those of us who spent college, you know, college-ing, will be the better for it in the short term (and it eliminates chances of embarrassing MySpace pics getting your diploma withheld

How I think of it, is that THEY missed out because they were so drunk they don't remember half of it.
At least I got a WHOLE experience. -_^
