What I liked about KH2 was opening chests easier (just hitting the triangle button rather than having to do this, that, the other) among other things using the triangle button and the ability to skip the cut scenes (I did that every time...and had no idea what was going on! :D) but what the fresh fuck happened to Little Mermaid Land? Okay, fuck the storyline and shit we had in the first game--IT'S TIME FOR A MUSICAAAAL!
And I agree on the 8-bit era. I remember being blown away when I first got my N64. We had only had an NES up until '98 and then 'OMFG 3-D SAY WHAAAT?!' and Diddy Kong Racing still ranks as one of my favorite games of all time. That and 'Yoshi's Story'
If it has my favorite characters and/or franchise in it, I don't give a crap how bad it sucks.
In all seriousness, my favorite games are ones with storylines. Where you feel like you've gone on an adventure with the character and have a great sense of satisfaction from doing so.
