i'm going to a nursing home. I'm volunteering there, helping with crafts. I haven't been in one since the last time I was with grandma, and I actually spent some really wonderful time there, especially after mom got so sick and it made me so happy to see all the nice old people there

Oh gosh you are the sweetest girl in the world! I miss you so much! Jesse is doing nursing clinicals in a nursing home this semester and she has fun but it is also very sad for her. Her patient has ms and can barely talk or move, and takes an hour and a half to eat her meals, but always tells Jesse thank you after every bite - how sweet and cute! She's only 60 years old, and Jesse always comes home sad. But I'm glad you and she are doing this, I love old people!!!

that's one thing i've never been very good with, old people i mean...perhaps you're a better person than me. i either wait very stiffly for them to refer to me as 'young man' or i wait very stiffly till they ask me if i have any children yet. as you can see, i am not very good, AT ALL with old people. i hope i die before i am old...you never replied to me by the way...check your e-mail.

I actually really enjoyed the time I spent volunteering with the retired sisters in high school, which was a similar thing.
