Visting: Auschwitz, Saschenhausen and Dachau

This entry is mainly for juliannajoyful who said she wouldn't mind seeing pictures of part of my trip in Poland and Germany.

Basically this is going to be a rather picture heavy entry. I'll post pictures and add captions and stories where I can remember them.

I was waiting for your entry ever since you mentioned it... I was to auschwitz years ago with my mum and grandma and then to theresienstadt near prague when I was 17, my great grandma is written on the memorial wall there and my mum asked me to speak kaddish for her when I was there... I think it's good that people go visit, people need awareness.

wow this was a great post, very informative! I've always wanted to make that trip ever since going to the holocaust museum in DC. It's so hard for me to believe that all this happened not so long ago, it's scary to think it really.

I wouldn't have been able to go into the gas chamber, whether it was used for people or not, that's just plain creepy :(

How fascinating. Thanks for posting those pictures! You just don't realize how far-reaching Hitler's regime was. But it seems he kind of touched everything.
