It is fascinating, isn't it, how incredibly brainwashed the Animus can make us, despite how much we struggle to maintain normalcy in this world.

One has to wonder how they can manage it.

by the way i'm a genius, look at how innocent i am, simply an academic, voldemort is a control freak, losing control inch by inch, somebody is going to die, teetering on the edge of sanity

I guess they have a pretty strong power.

[It's not unknown in her world for large populations of humanity - even nearly all of humanity at one point - to be brainwashed by an outside power.]

Quite obviously, Miss Usagi, but the amount of power required to control an entire population is something entirely unheard of.

[Not... really, but saying that is saying a lot about the senshi and their history.]

I wonder if there's some source to their power.

That would be the logical conclusion.

You went within the Inner City. What do you think?

Shouldn't you wonder why they don't do it all the time?

Energy is finite.

[Quite simply.]

They can only do so much at once. Or, at least, that's what I've gathered.

Obviously, but what does that suggest to you?

It suggests that they do whatever they do with a specific amount of power -- one that takes time to re-establish, which is why the events are spaced as they are.

Whatever this power source is, it must replenish itself after a certain amount of time, and they must want to do something with it if they're so persistent. I doubt they commit these random acts of chaos without cause or purpose -- if they were simply doing it because they were bored, they would have moved onto something more exciting after such a long period of time.

They must have some sort of purpose, even if they themselves have not discovered it yet.

Mm, it's fascinating the things they can do, isn't it? It would be nice if we could find a way around it.

There is always a way.

Of course. But have you figured it out yet?

If I had, Miss Fox, I wouldn't have been affected by such a ridiculous event.

[Rather patiently, but with the tone of 'of course not, you fool, that's why I said what I did'.]

Working on it.

[No one told him to watch out for you. Serves them right.]

When you're done, you should be careful about who you share the results of your researches with.

[Granted Tom knows how to play innocent. But if you wanted to know if he was dangerous, you could have asked too.]

[He knows what he's doing... hopefully]

That so?

Yes. And this particularly applies to Tom Riddle.

[Fair warning. You got it.]

[A soft snort.] If you mean fascinating in the "makes you wanna throw up" sense, then definitely.

Also trying to maintain normalcy in any world is a losing fight.

[Why is she even talking to Tom. She must be bored. Or she'll blame sleep deprivation.]

[A smirk.] Which one do you mean? This one or the last one?

Both, by the sound of it.
