How sad is this, on a scale of one to ten?

At work, I am currently compiling the calendar dates for 2011 (i.e., what dates Presidents’ Day, Yom Kippur, etc. fall on in 2011). Last year, I did the dates for 2010. Each day requires at least three individual sources.

I was just looking over the calendar in the 2009 World Almanac and Book of Facts, which is one of my primary sources. I ( Read more... )

Good point.

One is almost happy, and ten is I might as well find a cave and become a hermit because I'm just too pathetic to live in society.

I don't think it's sad to be detail oriented and have a good memory and grasp of things you deal with.

This form of "knowledge" is what makes people valuable in their jobs. It might be the only time when random bits of information are really useful.

I think it's sad that the almanac is wrong. I think it perfectly wonderful that you caught the mistake without having to look anything up. So I didn't vote in the poll, as I would have been voting against the Almanac, who evidently should have had someone like you working for them, and I wasn't sure that would have been clear in my vote.

So I abstain. Courteously.
