is your mom always like that? i know some parents who just have that sort of "sense of humor" and just dont see it as hurting anyone's feelings, cuz they just see it as joking around. it still sucks though, i know. *huggles*

She's kind of always been like that, but now she's gotten more mailicious. And she's completely serious, I can see it in her face.

just think though. 18- and youll NEVER have to look back. once you leave, youll rarely talk to her- and thats why so many adults have good relationships with their parents. and hopefully, she wont trat you so horribly then.

it's really common for parents to have strange reactions in regards to ED's. i remember after my therapist told me that she was concerned about my then 30lb weight loss, in a few months, all heard were nasty stress-inducing comments whenever we went shopping, as well as things like "oh, you want to be just like Mary Kate! how cute!" etc, etc.
making jokes about it is how people try and cope with something they don't understand, especially if they're uneducated or misinformed; i guess the best thing you can do is try to lead her to more accurate or reliable sources/explanations (I like Something-Fishy.org, it's where I sent my boyfriend)
