Sounds like a solid plan. The survival kit idea intrigues me, what does one of those usually contain?

The Survival Kit is a collection of items that an author deems necessary or helpful for completing NaNo. They contain everything from useful tools to motivating items to foodstuffs.

I've found a basic guideline for kits at The Procrastinating Writers Blog. On the NaNo forums, there's a thread where many users have been posting their Kit ideas. My Kit in Progress can be found on my Listography page.
