One year my brother took my mother out for an entire day. They went shopping and out to eat and to a show.

Ever since, no gift from any of her children has been able to top it . She says it was simply the best birthday of her life.

Might be that I've found the solution to my problem already then. ;) Nice work, although now I'll still have to think of exactly what she might like to do on her day.

Shouldn't take long to figure out, eh?

But then it stands that I have a free day currently with nothing in particular to do.

Well I'm very glad to have been of assistance.

And I suppose to figure out just what to do, you just have to take into account what she loves to do best and such.

Cho has suggested spending a day with my mother. Want to help me think of what she might want to do on her day?

Suppose it might be easier if you knew her.

Well, what's she like, then?

Basically like any other mother, except she's sharp and sensible.

If you're asking what she likes, that part I'm not sure how to answer. She's not much of a domestic type, so the usual kitchen sorts of gifts would probably insult her.

Here's a secret.

She's going to love anything you give her because it's from you.

Is that a genuine truth or is that something women say, but don't really mean?

It's what my Mother always used to tell me. She said a good gift doesn't have to be expensive, extravagant, or even something purchased. It just has to be given with love by someone that honestly cares.

ooc: Actually, that's from MY Father.
