Dearest Pansy,
Your father and I have been talking since you've left, and due to the circumstances we feel it necessary to tell you that we are moving our home. There are many reasons, all which we will fill you in on during Christmas. But for the time being, trust only your owl to deliver notes. I'm sure Blossom will be able to find us.
Love you always,
Mum
While most would read that note and see a loving mother's handwriting, Pansy could only read neglect and regret. She had no idea what would still be in her 'room' (wherever that was going to be now) when she went home for the holidays. But why were they moving? It sounded extremely suspicious... the kind of suspicion that made her stomach turn.
For Pansy, she rarely let her guard down, but in front of the other Slytherin girls in her dorm it was hard to always keep up appearances. Especially since they were her best friends. So as she sat on her bed, finally reading her letter that she'd tucked away during breakfast, she knew the other girls would either read her discomfort or ignore it.
