It had taken a bit of effort to get Crabbe and Goyle to help, but once Draco's influence had come into play, the team of Slytherins had the entire common room decorated to perfection. Well, at least their section of the common room. Adrian Puce and the other seventh years hadn't been very giving, but the fifth years did have hold on a decent ( Read more... )

Whenever Daphne entered the common room she always looked towards the fifth year's section first. Nothing was more important than stopping by to check up on her best friends. And especially today it was important to Daphne to see them.

She had enjoyed her day to herself, seeing everyone between classes. But it was a bit lonely. Now, after hours, she needed some social interaction.

When Daphne had entered the commons, Crabbe fetched Draco from his hiding place where he'd been lighting the candles of Daphne's cake. He emerged from the boys' dorm staircase, one hand holding the brightly lit cake with similar little green and silver candles to match the floating ones above, the other hand blocking the wind resistance from putting them out.

When he spotted Daphne he too lit up, throwing her a playful smirk as the small flickering lights danced in his pupils. With a laugh in his expression,

So! Cake or booze, which one first?

Daphne could barely contain herself. This was beyond perfection. And that cake looked delicious!

"Let me blow out my candles first!" she squealed, jumping up and down. She felt like a child, in all the best ways. Girls were supposed to get everything they wanted in their birthdays...Daphne just happened to get her way all year round as well.

"Then booze of course! What do we have?"

"Only your favorite French bubbly," Pansy smirked, showing off the bottles she'd imported special. "Care for a glass?"

She waved her wand, and the cork popped, and glasses were magically poured for everyone around.
