This was rejected from submission for this week because I submitted it yesterday. Oh, well. The week got busy and I didn't have time to pull the pics off my iPhone and get everything set up. So I'll post here and maybe remember to submit it next week.
18 January 2015: A snow tubing adventure with grandparents
All photos taken with my crappy iPhone4, so the picture quality is pretty gross in some cases.
Update 29 Jan:
DITL community link Ben wakes up and I get him some breakfast. It was a rought night for everyone.
Also, drooling over my parents' new kitchen. This is so beautiful, it was probably worth the spring/summer/fall spent with a kitchen in the garage!
He watches cartoons for a little while, but then prefers to play with the little knights and horses from France
Jake and Leo eventually wake up. Leo was battling a fever all night with delirious sleep-talking. "Mama! Aksdls wkwehts skweg!" and "Daddy! Storybook... Storybook." No one slept well.
More of the remodeled first floor while Jake plays piano. This room used to be paneled in wood, and the bathroom has been updated to include a wheelchair-accessible shower stall.
Grumpa makes big breakfast! Leo must be feeling a little better, since he devoured a whole plate of pancakes, bacon, and eggs.
Hem and haw about whether or not to take the boys tubing or not. Eventually it's decided that Leo is rallying enough to head out.
Leo's starting to be back to his normal ridiculous-ness... He's modeling new fashions with a Thomas the Train hat.
And we're at the tubing hill! Not shown: getting the boys all suited up in the back of the car.
This is what it looks like on the ride up the hill
Who is that riding behind me? Smile, Leo!
Everyone was having a blast (especially Ben). The double tubes go really fast and the singles spin around and around.
Then they decide to link up all the tubes into a long "train". We go again so the boys can switch up who is the "engine" and who is the "caboose".
Tubing is all done, but "Grumpa, make me a snowball!"
"I got you, Dad!"
Not pictured: McDonald's for lunch. Obviously we are still hungry, because as soon as we get home we break out the snacks. (Beer was for Jake, not me)
Ben finishes watching the original Star Wars
And then... Grumpa finds the fart gun.*sigh*
Poor Leo is feeling poorly again. He and Jake are snuggled up together for naps.
When he wakes up, it's obvious that he's not 100%, but that's nothing a fart gun can't fix!
Also, G-Nana is here for dinner.
I try reading a book to ignore the fart sounds, but it doesn't really help.
No pictures from dinner and by the time I circle back around to the kitchen, Mom has already finished the dishes.
Figuring out Angry Birds turns into...
... wrestle time with Grumpa
Leo is snuggly and grouchy
I give him some meds and hope for a better night's sleep
Brushing teeth and toilet time before bed.
Good night, boys! Have beautiful dreams.
Mom is tired too
I watch a little TV and by the time I head upstairs, everyone is fast asleep.
