Make the following icon;

In Photoshop 7.0

1. Open a new 100 x 100 image

2. Open your image and resize it. Drag it into your 100 x 100 image. Place it towards the bottom.
I got:


3. Now go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves
Set to:
RGB:
Point One
I: 45
O: 101

Point Two
I: 141
O: 208
I got:


4. Now go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation
Set the Saturation to +10
I got:


5. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Colour
Reds:
C: -30
M: 0
Y: 0
B: 0

Neutrals:
C: -10
M: -5
Y: +10
B: -10
I got:


6. Now make a new layer and stamp your image onto it (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E). Desaturate this layer and set to soft light.
I got:


13. Do the same to a second image and drag it towards the top of the icon. Then I used the polygonal select tool to erase some of the second picture, as shown below.

And you are done!
