[Background]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandora_Hearts [Personality]
Ada was born the younger of Zai Vessalius’ two children, but later became the elder after her brother Oz spent his time trapped in the Abyss. But Ada wasn’t so much raised by her father as she was by her Uncle Oscar. Nonetheless she was raised to be a proper noblewoman. That meant attending social gatherings and creating and maintaining a good image fit for the Vessalius Dukedom. In reality, Ada is a genuinely sweet-natured girl. She does not seem to allow herself to be personally affected by her social status either way personality-wise. Rather, Ada is an honest person whose face and eyes easily portray what she’s feeling. She is also rather intelligent; enough so to have earned the status of prefect in the private school which she attends. But it isn’t simply book smarts. Ada is also a very perceptive and empathetic young woman, who isn’t so easily fooled. The people around her mean a great deal to her and she worries a great deal for those who are closest to her. For those closest to her, she is willing to risk her life fighting for them even if she lacks the skills and abilities to do so. Even so, if there is a way to avoid fighting, that would be her preference, being a rather peaceful hearted young woman. That makes her also a rather ideal mediator when tensions arise.
Even when things are darkest, there is always a spark of optimism that remains with Ada, that drives her to try her best to do whatever she can in that situation to help. And while she is a fairly obedient young girl in most things, she continues to see the man she loves despite her family not accepting him, proving that she also knows when to stand firm in her own beliefs and for the sake of the things she truly wants. She doesn’t act blindly, but rather, wishes to act in the best interest of the people she cares about, as well as her own best interests, although she seems to often put other’s interests before her own.
She can be easily flustered by certain things such as close contact, flattering speech, and affectionate words or actions. But she is also a fairly affectionate young woman who sees and accepts both the good and bad in people. While she is rather perceptive of other people, she isn’t always right and can jump to conclusions when excited. However, she isn’t the type to judge people on appearances, first impressions, or the words of others. She looks at people closely and judges them for herself, looking deeper than the surface. While Ada tries to always see the best in others, she isn’t blind to people’s faults either, but rather finds ways of accepting those things.
But it is because her image is so important that her relationship with the man she loves and wishes to always be beside is not recognized and why she must hide her love for the occult. Her hobby of studying and immersing herself into the occult is a secret she shares with almost no one and her things are confined to the basement of the secondary mansion her Uncle gave to her; out of the eyes of the public. While it seems she receives things from her classmates on the subject, it seems to be something she hides quite diligently from most. She doesn’t even tell the man she’s dating despite having thought he was also interested in such things, until provoked to show her ‘true self’. And when he reacts badly at first, you can see that there is a part of her that fears her true self being rejected by the people she cares about, which could explain why she’s so reluctant to share it with others. But even so, it’s shown that she had always had some interest in dark, unusual stories even when she was a little kid, listening to stories that were normally meant to frighten children into behaving.
Because she worries for the people closes to her so and also because she lost her brother at such a young age, Ada doesn’t want to be alone. When her brother disappeared into the Abyss, even though she was young, she too did what she could to try and help find a way to save him. And when he returned the same age he had been when he left and she had grown older than him, she feared that he wouldn’t recognize her, or that he might reject her.
So despite being so strong willed, Ada is actually rather fearful of not being accepted. That and the fear of losing those close to her are probably her two greatest fears. While on the other hand, danger itself doesn’t scare her nearly as much, despite her lack of strength or fighting ability.

[First Person]
[Sitting on the edge of the fountain, Ada tried to pull herself together and figure this all out while her head was still spinning with all this new information, a dazed look on her face.]
Oh Oz… what should I do? I don’t know what’s going on at all… Where is everyone? What happened? I’m so worried about everything that I can barely sit still…
[And true to her words, she keeps shifting anxiously.]
…Vincent… I hope you’re alright… I can’t just keep sitting around worrying, but what can I do? It’s like I’ve been spirited away to a whole different world, but I can’t even enjoy it. This must have been what my brother felt when he was taken away to the Abyss…
[But with that said, it seems to trigger something inside of her, and her expression changes, to one of decisiveness.]
I can’t give up. Everyone said that it would be impossible for my brother to return from the Abyss after he disappeared. But they were wrong! So there has to be something I can do here. There has to be some way home.
[And with that she stands, with a new look of determination on her features.]
[Third Person]
The smell of blood and death lingered in that room. Any normal person would be terrified. So anyone else would think that his reaction was perfectly normal. But Ada knew better than that. The strange yet beautiful eyes she loved weren’t looking at the horrors that had occurred in the ballroom. They were unfocused, as if seeing an entirely different horror… something much, much more painful. What was it? She wanted to know, and yet a part of her was afraid to ask. When she went back, he simply pushed her away. But he hadn’t been looking at ‘her’ either, but someone else entirely. Even so, she had wanted to protect him. More than anything, she wanted to stay by his side. She could not drive away the shadows in his heart like this, but if she could bring even just a little peace to his heart, then she would do anything to achieve it. That was how things were supposed to go. They were supposed to be able to get out of there together when it was all over.
But something had gone wrong. There was a dull pain in the back of her neck still throbbing and there was a point when her memories just… faded to black. Had she been knocked out? Where was she…?
Fear flooded back into her heart as she slowly regained her awareness. She expected to see the high vaulted ceilings of Isla Yura’s mansion when she opened her eyes, but as her eyelids fluttered open, all she saw was a vast blue sky. She was flat on her back in the middle of a small grassy field, staring at the sky. Sitting up, she winced as the pain in her neck returned. Where was she? How had she gotten here? No matter how hard she racked her brain, she couldn’t remember anything after she had blacked out. The sky looked so peaceful after everything that had happened… as if the party had just been a nightmare. Standing, her knees wobbled slightly in protest, but other than the pain in the back of her neck she was fine. This beautiful, calm place that she had never seen before scared her more than the murderous ballroom.
Because now… she was alone.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Ada can be considered a minor character in her canon, but one with great dynamic and potential and because she’s such an active and interesting character, I’m really interested in seeing how she adapts and is affected by Somarium and the dream broadcasting system. I’m also interested in getting to see her kind of expand her world with the various different characters from all kinds of different worlds.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] No meta-gaming. Because it’s always better to see the results of characters learning or being in the dark the proper way, and more interesting too. When people don’t do it that way it just gets difficult to work with and irritating because it’s really not realistic to have characters know everything a player can see. It just doesn’t work that way.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] That I don’t remember. But I did play here before some time ago.
[Any questions?] Nope, I’ve got nothing.
