effects: A cheerful feeling, but a lingering sense of loneliness
There's a girl of six or seven years sitting by the lake. She giggles and flops her feet into the water (never mind that her shoes and stockings are now drenched.
She's singing cheerfully... peacefully. But she keeps looking over her shoulder.
Something that should be there... isn't.
But she's waiting for him. He wouldn't leave her alone.
Then minutes turn to hours, but no one shows. It's getting colder, and the light is quickly fading.
Had she been forgotten? Where was her brother?
Picking herself up she crawls across the grass, calling his name -- Oz? Oz!!
But no one answers. No one can answer. Because her brother is gone now. She forgot. She thought her days would always remain as peaceful and cheerful as the ones before.
It was then... that she realized she was wrong.
[Ada wakes up slowly, to tears on her cheeks and a scary feeling in her chest. Every time she had spoken to her brother, it always seemed to be something... well... bad. And he had been acting differently... worrying about things. Things that frightened her. Things out of her grasp. And again she had this feeling that -- just like at that time... there was nothing she could do. She could not reach him.]
